Palace throw it away again

Crystal Palace let the points slip again by drawing 2-2 at AFC Bournemouth.

Again Palace conceded a late goal – this time in the 89th minute – after twice taking the lead to allow the home side snatch a share of the spoils.

Roy Hodgson's side should have put the game out of Bournemouth's reach with the number of chances they created in the second half.

Bournemouth almost scored inside the first minute but Callum Wilson couldn't take down Charlie Daniels' early ball into the box.

After that, both sides were evenly matched with nothing between them in the opening period with neither goalkeeper having to make a save.

However, two minutes into the second half, Palace got the decisive breakthrough. Yohan Cabaye was fouled just outside the area and Luka Milivojevic beautifully dispatched the free-kick over the wall and into the net for his 10th goal of the season.

Lewis Cook forced Wayne Hennessey into a low parry to his right as the hosts looked for a quick response.

But Palace wasted a gilt-edged opportunity to extend their advantage when Wilfried Zaha played Patrick van Aanholt through on goal with just the keeper to beat, but the left back's shot was easily saved by Asmir Begovic.

Makeshift strikers Zaha and Andros Townsend had multiple efforts each on goal that were wasted.

They were made to pay when Bournemouth levelled on 65 minutes with a low finish into the bottom right corner from substitute Lys Mousset.

The Eagles thought they had all three points in the bag when Zaha's deflected shot with his left foot went in from the edge of the area.

Then Joshua King stabbed in from close range at the far post with just a minute to go for 2-2 after Palace failed to clear a Cherries corner.
