Palace share the spoils

Crystal Palace kept up their unbeaten run with a 1-1 draw away to Everton.

The Eagles will feel aggrieved to have not got the full three points after Damian Delaney's 'goal' was ruled out for a debatable offside decision.

But in the end they made it five league matches unbeaten and remain seventh in the Premier League table.

Everton went ahead in slightly controversial fashion 10 minutes before the break. Referee Jonathan Moss awarded a home free-kick after Delaney's high boot on Phil Jagielka, despite there being no contact and the Everton defender then handling the ball.

Romelu Lukaku then curled the 20-yard set-piece over the Palace wall with Eagles keeper Steve Mandanda furious his teammates didn't jump to block it.

Five minutes into the second half, Palace restored parity when Christian Benteke rose above Seamus Coleman to expertly guide Joel Ward's cross into the corner for his third goal of the season.

An onside Delaney then headed the ball into the Everton net but the linesman flagged for offside, presumably for James McArthur's movement in front of the goal.

Neither side could snatch a winner in a pulsating game, though Palace will be happier with a good away point.
