Glenn Murray

A brace from Glenn Murray stretches Crystal Palace's unbeaten run to 11 games as they beat Blackburn Rovers 2-0.

Curtis Fleming was in charge of the Eagles after the depature of Lennie Lawrence, with new boss Ian Holloway in the stands.

Palace had a number of chances in the first half, with Yannick Bolasie and Wilfried Zaha looking particularly threatening on the wings.

Murray and then Owen Garvan missed shots in front of goal, however both players linked up to give Palace the lead shortly before half time.

Garvan crossed a brilliant ball into the box and Murray powered home a header off the underside of the bar.

In the second half the Eagles went further ahead after Grant Hanley brought down Murray in the area, and the former Brighton striker picked himself up and scored the resulting penalty.

Minutes later Murray had a chance to score his second hat-trick of the season when Adam Henley brought down Bolasie in the box.

Murray opted to send his penalty the same way and Paul Robinson in the Blackburn goal did enough to thwart him.

The result leaves Palace in third position, just one point from top spot.
