Derby ends in stalemate

Crystal Palace's goal drought continues as they play out a 0-0 draw with South London rivals Millwall.

Dougie Freedman opted to bring in Owen Garvan into central midfield with David Wright dropping to the bench.

He also opted for a 4-4-2 formation with Chris Martin partnering Glenn Murray up front.

The Eagles had a great chance to take the lead in the sixth minute when good work from Dean Moxey on the left resulted in a cross which Murray failed to get a touch on.

Jay Simpson had Millwall's best chance in the first half when his early shot was palmed away by Julian Speroni and Nathaniel Clyne managed to clear the ball before John Marquis could latch on to it.

Palace had a huge penalty appeal in the second half when Wilfried Zaha was seen to be tripped in the box but referee David Webb waved away the appeals.

On 73 minutes though Palace did get a penalty when Paddy McCarthy was fouled in the box by Paul Robinson.

Glenn Murray stepped up to take the spot kick but after a stuttering run placed his kick wide of Steve Mildenhall's goal.

Both sides pushed for a winner but failed to hit the mark, and the game ended 0-0.

The Eagles have now not found the net for 485 minutes, but also haven't let a goal in at home in the last five matches.
