Glenn Murray
Crystal Palace registered their best start to a league season in six years with a 1-0 win at home to Bristol City.
Glenn Murray's 81st minute penalty sealed all three points against the bottom club to push the Eagles into the play-off zone.
City dominated possession in the early stages of the game but it was Palace who had the clear cut chances with Wilfried Zaha firing wide and seeing an effort saved by David James.
Albert Adomah then blasted over the bar for City, while Darren Ambrose spurned the best opportunity of the half when his shot from James' misplaced pass landed on the roof of the net.
The visitors could have broke the deadlock but Brett Pitman headed straight at Julian Speroni in the Palace goal on 77 minutes.
But the match was settled nine minutes from the end with a penalty after sub Jon Williams was hauled down in the area by by Lewin Nyatanga. And Murray converted the spot kick for his fourth goal of the season and the win moved Palace up to fifth place.
