Crystal Palace saw their six-match unbeaten run come crashing to an end with a 3-0 loss at home to Doncaster Rovers.

Doncaster had the first chance through former Palace midfielder John Oster who blasted over, then Julian Speroni made a comfortable save from Dean Shiels.

The Eagles went close to breaking the deadlock when Neil Danns put an effort wide from six yards, then Victor Moses forced Rovers keeper Neil Sullivan into a brilliant save.

Palace continued to press forward with Darren Ambrose letting fly with a long range attempt but they could not make the breakthrough.

Four minutes before half-time, Doncaster went in front as James Chambers crossed for Billy Sharp to side foot past Speroni.

Referee Pat Miller went off at the break injured and was replaced by the fourth official. Palace began the first half brightly with Jose Fonte blazing a shot over.

Alan Lee went close with a header, while Chambers had a strike fly over Speroni's goal.

Rovers got the crucial second goal on 62 minutes as Oster made a strong run down the left and crossed for Martin Woods to score.

With 12 minutes to go, Sharp set up James Hayter to score Doncaster's third goal from 12 yards as his side claimed their first away win of the season.
