Wayne Carlisle
A disappointed Wayne Carlisle says he is hoping to find a new club before transfer deadline day after being released by Palace.
The 22-year-old winger is one of six players released by the club this week in order to trim down the squad.
Carlisle said: "It's disappointing but I have known for some time that I had no future at Palace. My main aim now is to find another club before deadline day."
The departure of the ex-Northern Ireland U21 international is frustrating as he has played well for the club in his short career and should have been given more of a chance.
Coming up through the successful youth teams, he played 54 times, scoring three goals. Along with the other youngsters, he was instrumental in Palace avoiding relegation under Steve Coppell when the club was in adminstration.
He had a successful loan spell with Swindon this season, becoming a big hit with the fans, but they cannot afford to buy him.
