Gregg Berhalter

American international Gregg Berhalter has been transfer listed by manager Trevor Francis.

Berhalter, who recently returned from international duty, demanded talks with Francis as he has been unhappy about the lack of first team football he has been getting.

After the recent injuries to defensive pair Tony Popovic and Kit Symons, Berhalter had hoped that he would get a run in the first team.

However, with the arrival of on-loan Shaun Murphy from Sheffield United, Berhalter has been snubbed by Francis.

Francis said: "Gregg thought that the injuries would mean a way back into the side, but I elected to bring in Shaun because I needed a big, strong centre-back.

"He came to see me but I couldn't see a way for him to be in the first team so we agreed to put him on the transfer list."
