Trevor Francis is set to extend Shaun Murphy's loan spell from Sheffield United for another month.
Kit Symons and Tony Popovic are still out injured and the 31 year old should be in the squad for the game against Wimbledon on Saturday.
Terry Bullivant said: "There's a good possibility of him staying. He's done well since he joined us and we've got until the end of the month to look at him.
"He will get his chance to impress in the first team and we will decide when his loan is up whether he stays."
Murphy was voted United's player of the year last season and asked for a transfer after turning down the offer of a new contract in December.
