Andrew Martin
A weakened Palace reserve side opened their defence of the Surrey Senior Cup with a 3-1 win away to Leatherhead.
Taking control of the game from the start, the Palace second-string took the lead in the 38th minute. Gareth Gwillam's cross from the left was headed home by Andrew Martin.
Martin turned from goalscorer to goal provider when six minutes later, after a good move, his cross from the right was fired home by Gareth Williams.
Williams got his second goal of the game when his shot from the edge of the box deflected off a Leatherhead defender past the helpless keeper.
Substitute Stephen Evans then hit the post after a good run and at the end, Leatherhead got a consolation when player/manager Alex Inglethorpe drove home a free-kick.
