Stacey

Get to know a little more about Crystal Palace's famous cheerleaders in our new series. First up is head coach Stacey!

Name: Stacey.

Age: 23.

Hometown: Carshalton.

Occupation: I teach dance and gymnastics at a school.

Dance Background and Experience: I started dancing when I was four. I did the usual ballet, tap, modern, jazz, and then commercial, hip-hop, and I joined a dance group. I absolutely loved that and did lots of work with them, so I danced in Barcelona and I got the amazing opportunity to dance at World of Dance in San Diego and Los Angeles - it was absolutely amazing. Then I went to uni and got a BA Honours and degree in dance.

Five words that describe you: Very lively, loyal, energetic, bubbly, probably a bit crazy as well.

One thing most people would be surprised to learn is... I have a jet ski and in the summer I like to go jet skiing in Bognor Regis.

Biggest Fear: Dying.

What would be your superpower? I like to have two. I’d like to be able to fly, but I’d love to be able to… like they do in Harry Potter, have a physical cloak over me so I can go in a room and listen to people and watch them.

Most Embarrassing Moment: Ok my recent embarrassing moment, I was on holiday and I went to look outside our balcony view and I walked into the sliding door. Yeah it's not great and I had a bruise on my nose.

Dream Job: I want to dance on West End.

Dream Holiday Destination: I’d love to go to Australia, cos we’ve got a lot of family out there who I’ve never met before. So I’d love to…one visit the country and two, to see all my long lost family.

Why did you decide to audition for the Crystals? I auditioned like a week after I finished uni. So I wanted to do something where I could keep dancing, keep fit, keep training and perform.

What are some of your Crystals highlights? I don’t know if I can say this. The Liverpool game last season, just cos I’m a huge Steven Gerard fan and when we were dancing on the pitch he walked past me and I was like…aaaah! What else? Probably my first game against Sunderland last season, it's just the atmosphere was amazing and that first time being on the pitch. It was a bit overwhelming but yeah, that’s probably my favourite moment.

Favorites...

Former Player: Kevin Phillips.

Movie: White Chicks, absolutely love that film.

Article of Clothing: I live and die in my coat but maybe my Uggs?

Phone App: Twitter.

Cartoon Character: Elastigirl from The Incredibles.

TV Show: Probably, I’d say anything on ITVBe. I love that channel, so I can go from watching Jerseylicious to Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, they’ve got their own TV programme. Anything on that channel I will watch.

Ice Cream: Mint chocolate chip. I love mint.

Junk Food Weakness: Curry, I absolutely love curry. I could probably eat curry every day of the week. I like my hot food.
