Crystal Palace defender Jack Hunt has joined Barnsley on loan for the rest of the season.
The right-back only signed from Huddersfield in August 2013, but he suffered an ankle injury in his first week of training and has only just recovered.
Hunt, 23, is highly rated by Palace and the move to the Championship will give him regular match time as he returns to full fitness.
He will link up with fellow Eagles team mate Peter Ramage, who is also on loan at Oakwell, and fills in for injured Barnsley defender Ryan McLaughlin.
Tykes boss Danny Wilson said: "Ryan had a scan earlier this week and it revealed a tear, which means he'll be out for a minimum of four weeks, which is very unfortunate. We've had to look elsewhere because we have a lot of big games coming up.
"For what’s available at this moment in time, Jack’s head and shoulders above everyone else.
"He’s been injured for a while and is short of match practice but we know enough about him to know what a terrific player he is."
