Player and Manager of the Month for September
Crystal Palace duo Dougie Freedman and Glenn Murray have won September’s Manager and Player of the Month awards respectively.
Freedman led the Eagles to impressive wins over Sheffield Wednesday, Charlton, Cardiff and Bolton plus a draw with Nottingham Forest.
Murray inspired these victories with six goals in five matches - four of which came from the penalty spot.
Panel member Alan Curbishley said: "This award completes a fantastic month for Dougie with Palace remaining unbeaten and recording notable wins at home to Cardiff City and away at Bolton Wanderers. It's a great start to the season and I can see them occupying a place in and around the play-off positions at the end of the season."
Npower sponsorship Manager Emma Collins added: “It’s great to see a young manager doing so well, so we’re delighted to be giving the npower Football League Championship Manager of the Month award to Dougie. Crystal Palace’s form in September was the best in the league, so it was one of our easier decisions.
The judging panel for the npower Manager of the Month awards comprises former Charlton Athletic manager Alan Curbishley, Sky Sports Football League expert Don Goodman, Football League Chief Operating Officer Andy Williamson, BBC Sport's Mark Clemmit, League Managers Association Deputy CEO Olaf Dixon and npower Head of Sponsorship Emma Collins.
