Crystal Palace have signed central defender Damien Delaney on a free transfer.

The 31-year-old has penned a short-term contract and is available for selection for the match against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.

The ex-Ipswich Town man made more than 100 appearances for the East Anglian club, as well as spells at QPR and Hull City.

Delaney told the official Palace website: "I'm really impressed, I've come here this morning seen the training ground and trained for the first time.

"I knew two or three of the lads so they made me feel welcome straight away.

"The manager's enthusiasm you can see in his training sessions. That's what I want to get on board with. It just felt right."

Meanwhile, Matt Parsons has joined Wycombe Wanderers on a one-month loan.
