Darren Ambrose
Crystal Palace win their first pre-season friendly 2-1 against Basingstoke Town, with Darren Ambrose slotting home a second half penalty.
The Eagles lined up with trialist Morgan Gould in defence and youngesters Ibra Sekajja and Nathaniel Pinney up front.
Palace first half: Speroni, Dorman, Wynter, Gould, Moxey, Zaha, Dikgacoi, O'Keefe, Andrew, Sekajja, Pinney.
Palace had the ball in the back of the net within a few minutes but Sekajja effort was ruled offside.
On 17 minutes Wilfried Zaha did get Palace 1-0 up, after being set free by Stuart O'Keefe.
The line-up changed almost completely in the second half with Dougie Freedman giving Glenn Murray his first run out for the club since his move from rivals Brighton.
Palace 2nd Half: Price, Clyne, Gould, Holness, Parsons, Cadogan, Wright, Garvan, Ambrose, Murray, Scannell.
Efforts early on in the second period from Kieron Cadogan, Sean Scannell and Ambrose failed to cross the line, but it was on the 75th minute Palace found themselves 2-0 up.
Nathaniel Clyne was fouled in the box by Matt Warner and Ambrose stepped up and slotted the ball home from the penalty spot.
Basingstoke grabbed a goal back in the 85th minute through a deflected shot by trialist Gadwell.
