Former Holland international Edgar Davids will decide if he will join Crystal Palace by the end of the week.

Palace boss George Burley has been in talks with the 37-year-old former Ajax midfielder about rekindling his football career after two years out of the game.

"We spoke to Edgar and had a meeting with him earlier in the week," said Burley.

"The boy felt enthusiasm and he has been training with Ajax so we left it that way.

"He will probably let us know if we are going to do something in the next few days. At the moment it was just a chat."
