The Football League has put a transfer embargo on Crystal Palace for the second time this season.

Palace still owe Ipswich £400,000 for striker Alan Lee with £200,000 due this month and the rest next year.

Eagles manager Neil Warnock said: "I'm aware of the situation and we will get around it. I'm sure it will be lifted in the next couple of weeks and it's just a case of getting on with it - but I'm still very positive."

The first embargo was put in place at the beginning of August when Palace chairman Simon Jordan had not paid former players bonuses and signing-on fees from last season.

It was lifted by the end of the month when that cash was paid - along with a £250,000 installment owed to Bristol City for the transfer of Nick Carle.

Palace manager Neil Warnock was able to bring in defender Claude Davis before the transfer deadline as the Eagles signed two sponsorship deals and earned a big pay day for hosting Manchester City in the Carling Cup.

However, with more money owed to various other parties, the Football League has placed another embargo on the Selhurst Park outfit.
