French midfielder Alassane N'Diaye scored Palace's only goal in a 1-0 win over Blue Square South team Bromley.

The Eagles started with a full strength side and included new signing Stern John as part of a three man attack, alongside Freddie Sears and Victor Moses.

The only noticeable absentee was Darren Ambrose who is currently injured but is likely to make a return against Gillingham at the weekend.

Palace controlled most of the game but were finding it hard to find the back of the net. In the first half John was finding his feet with his new teammates and was involved in a number of moves. Neil Danns looked impressive in midfield linking up well with Nick Carle.

Bromley almost took the lead early on through Jacob Erskine but his effort was blocked.

The Eagles' best first half chance came through Danns who fired a fierce volley against the crossbar.

Palace made a couple of changes to the line-up at the start of the second half, with Matt Lawrence, and Kieron Cadogan replacing Jose Fonte and Carle.

The Eagles dominated the second half, with Victor Moses causing Bromley's defence all kinds of problems, Sears hit the bar with a shot and John had a header cleared off the line.

Palace's pressure finally paid off in the 70th minute when substitute N'Diaye scored with his first touch of the ball, stearing home a header from a throw on.

Late on Luke I’Anson hit the bar for the Ravens but they ran out of time to score an equaliser and the game ended with a 1-0 victory to Palace.
