Crystal Palace returned to winning form with a 3-1 win at play-off chasing Swansea City.

Goals from Victor Moses, Jose Fonte and Shefki Kuqi inflicted only the second defeat of the season for the Swans.

Palace started brightly with Nick Carle and Victor Moses having attempts on goal then Swansea defender Ashley Williams headed a Jordi Gomez corner at Eagles keeper Julian Speroni.

Half-time Swansea sub Matthew Collins almost gave Swansea the lead within seconds of coming on with a ferocious strike that crashed against the post.

But Palace opened the scoring in the 49th minute when Moses found space in the penalty area and rifled a left-foot shot past goalkeeper Dorus De Vries.

Nathan Dyer had a decent chance to level for Swansea, but Fonte stretched Palace's lead just past the hour mark.

Carle lofted in a free-kick from the right side and Anthony Stokes crossed in for Fonte to power home his header.

Gorka Pintado pulled a goal back for the Welsh club in the 65th minute from Jason Scotland's assist.

The goalscorer blazed over shortly after, then Speroni pulled off a smart save to keep out a shot from Swansea's top scorer Scotland.

Three minutes into time added on, Kuqi ensured Palace went home with maximum points with a neat finish from Clint Hill's pass.
