Crystal Palace reserves put local rivals Millwall to the sword with a 4-2 win at Beckenham.

James Comley scored twice, with James Dayton and trialist Danny Maguire also getting on the scoresheet.

Dayton had the first chance of the match, hitting the post with a low drive, before Palace got their noses in front after 38 minutes.

Comley hit a speculative shot from 30 yards that swirved late and Lions keeper Wayne Drummond could only help the ball into his own net.

Dayton extended Palace's lead in the 53rd minute by latching on the end of Maguire's slide-rule pass to finish beyond the reach of Drummond.

Comley got the third goal in the 76th minute, combining with Kieron Cadogan on the edge of the box and blasted home.

John Marquis pulled a goal back for Millwall three minutes later with a chipped effort over Scott Flinders but Maguire made it 4-1 five minutes from time.

The Lions made the scoreline slightly more respectable with a second goal from Marquis in the last minute.

Palace: Flinders, Abnett, Hills (Adelakun 70), Comley (Holness 75), N'Diaye, Carolan, Cadogan, Maguire, Scowcroft (Pinney 36), Smith, Dayton

Not used: Thorpe, Nnamini.
