Here's how the Crystal Palace players rated agaianst Barnsley...
Speroni 8
Was dominant in claiming crosses and a couple of very good saves.
Clyne 8
Superb performance for young Nathaniel today. Coped with everything with ease and looked good going forward as well. Was good to see him making interceptions rather than just tackles, it shows he can already read the game well.
Hill 6
Pretty standard performance from Clint today, a few too many crosses from that side for my liking, but it was nice to see him getting forward and, but for one of the best saves I've ever seen, he'd have been on the end of a great move.
Fonte 8
Absolutely dominant at the back. Too good in the air for Odejayi and Rigters, and too clever for Hume.
Lawrence 6
Some great defending from Matty at times, but he was skinned by Hume and had a couple of dodgy moments. Not confident in him against better opposition.
Derry 7
Decent game from the captain today, controlled the midfield well and seems to have stopped throwing himself into ridiculous tackles and instead using his brain to break up attacks.
Watson 8
Great performance from Ben capped with a couple of goals. Great late run into the box for the second as well. He may not have made as many telling passes as we're used to today, but him and Carle were great today.
Carle 8
He was tenacious, and I can't remember a point in the game where neither him or Watson weren't within ten yards of the ball in the midfield. Like Watson, was also composed when he had a bit of time.
Ifill 6
Decent performance from Paul, although not outstanding. Solid, if unspectacular comes to mind.
Moses 8
Absolutely terrorised Barnsley today. You know he's doing well when even at 2-0 down their manager still feels the need to change the right back! For a couple of minutes before Ben's second goal, he was untouchable.
Beattie 7
Worked hard for the side and contributes a lot as a target, but never looks like scoring. Doesn't seem to have a killer instinct in front of goal.
Subs:
Kuqi 8
Ran his socks off for his short time on the pitch. Caused havoc up front and took his goal well. If he's playing like that, I would personally start him over Beattie at the moment (until Lee is fit anyway).
Oster 6
Came on and did what he had to do whilst looking comfortable. I'd like to see him stay in the squad past january as his experience and technical ability could prove useful, even if he's not starting games.
Ertl 6
Some nice touches and a generally assured few minutes for Johannes. Looked like he might be capable of covering for Derry depending on how bad Shaun's injury is.
