Crystal Palace continued their pre-season campaign with a 1-1 draw against Crawley Town.

Neil Warnock fielded another strong starting line-up, with Dougie Freedman and Paul Ifill spear-heading the attack along with Sean Scannell.

There were also debut places for new boys Darryl Flahavan in goal and Johannes Ertl in defence.

The Eagles took the lead after 36 minutes when the ball found its way into the path of Ifill who slotted past Paul Rayner.

Shortly after, Palace were fortunate not to conceed a goal themselves, when Jon-Paul Pittman's shot from eigh yards out was brilliantly saved by new signing Flahavan.

After the break, Crawley found themselves back in the game after Thomas Pinault's through ball found substitute Jake Wright and the former Bradford City trainee was fouled in the box for a penalty.

Pinault stepped up and smashed the ball past Flahavan to make it 1-1.

The two sides continued to have chances till the final whistle but neither could break the deadlock and game finished all square.

Palace travel to Aldershot on Thursday night for their next pre-season fixture.

Palace: Flahavan, Ertle, Hill, McCarthy, Watson, Fonte, Derry, Carle, Freedman, Ifill, Scannell.

Subs: Comly, Clyne, Djilali, Pinney, Adelakun, Abnett, Edwards, Cadogan, Dalhouse, Bingham, Smith, Wilkinson.
