Crystal Palace have signed midfielder Nick Carle from Bristol City for an undisclosed fee.

The 26-year-old Australian has signed a four year deal with the Eagles and will link up with the rest of the squad on Wednesday when they begin their pre-season training.

Carle is a familiar face to the rest of the Palace squad as he lined up against them during last season's play-off semi final.

He joined Bristol City from Turkish side Genclerbirligi in January 2008, and made 20 appearances for the Championship club.

Prior to his time in Turkey he has played in his native country at the Marconi Stallions, and Newcastle Jets.
