Crystal Palace chief Simon Jordan has branded a section of Bristol City fans "morons" after he was abused at Ashton Gate.
Jordan faced flack from City fans as he popped outside the ground for a cigarette during half-time of the play-off semi final defeat on Tuesday night.
"I was called every name under the sun by hundreds of morons outside the ground," Jordan said.
"They called me a poof, they called me orange and plenty of other insults that you could not print. They were being particularly vitriolic, but I just kept my head down. What can you do? They are morons."
The FA is launching an enquiry into the pitch invasion at the end of the match which saw one "supporter" throw a punch at Eagles manager Neil Warnock as he went down the tunnel.
Jordan added: "I saw the scenes and they were disgraceful. It's not for me to say what action the FA should take, but no one should ever be physically attacked in any walk of life."
City fans broke through the away corden at Selhurst Park to attack the Palace support when the teams met in the league earlier in the campaign.
