Leon Cort
Leon Cort has made his loan deal to Stoke City permanent by joining for £1.2million.
The centre back was sent out on loan with the Potters in October when manager Neil Warnock told him he had no future with the Eagles.
The incoming Eagles boss felt Cort, who was never booked while at the club, was not the type of physical player he required.
Cort was signed by Peter Taylor in June 2006 after the pair worked together at Hull City and 28-year-old Cort scooped the Player-of-the Year award after his first season.
He scored seven goals in 50 appearances with the Eagles and Stoke have smased their transfer record to secure his services.
"Leon has come in to replace some big names in our defence and has settled in brilliantly," said manager Tony Pulis.
"He has not only played his part out on the pitch where everyone can see, but has provided the kind of character and leadership any dressing room thrives on.
"I believe he can be a great asset for several seasons to come and help what we are trying to do at this football club. He's the sort of player and character you build a team around."
