Paul Ifill will be sidelined for up to five weeks after suffering a thigh injury during Crystal Palace's win at Colchester on Saturday.

Ifill has endured an injury-ravaged campaign, missing nine weeks with a hamstring problem, and his latest blow came early in the second half at Layer Road.

The former Millwall winger, 29, admitted he is sick and tired of spending more time in the treatment room than on the pitch.

"It's ridiculous. Since I've been here I've played around 15 games and if you look at my career before this I've played 40 to 50 games a season," Ifill said.

"So to come here and be hit by these injuries is disappointing and frustrating.

"I don't know what I've done to deserve this but I must have annoyed someone somewhere.

"It's doing my head in being in that treatment room."

Ifill could be forgiven for never wanting to see Palace physio Paul Timson ever again, but he is determined to get through his rehabilitation quickly.

"It's frustrating but all you can do is knuckle down, get yourself fit and hope it doesn't happen again," he said.

"I felt like I was getting back to fitness and now I've got to start all over again."

Ifill's injury is another setback for Palace boss Neil Warnock, who is already without Tony Craig for three months after the left-back underwent shoulder surgery.
