Neil Shipperley
Neil Shipperley believes Neil Warnock would deliver success to Crystal Palace if he was appointed manager.
Warnock is reportedly the number one choice to replace Peter Taylor who was sacked by chairman Simon Jordan.
Palace have registered just two victories this season and are languishing in the bottom of the Championship table.
Former Eagles striker Shipperley played under Warnock at Sheffield United and reckons he is the man to turn Palace's fortunes round.
"Neil Warnock would be in my top three managers - he's a great motivator," said Shipperley, who has now retired from the game. "He's a great boss and if Palace were to get him, I'd be a massive fan of that.
"If he gets the job, I'm sure he'd be a success. Simon Jordan demands that and he was a fantastic manager when I was with him at Sheffield United."
Shipperley spoke to some of his old teammates at Selhurst Park who claimed they were fully behind Taylor this season.
"No one likes to see a manager go, especially after 10 games in," he said. "The players did like him. I watched Palace against Coventry and the players showed they were battling for the manager.
"But you've got to feel for Peter Taylor when you know the chairman is friends with Neil Warnock."
