Crystal Palace were reeling after Hull scored a last-minute penalty to draw 1-1 draw at Selhurst Park.
Hull began the match well and Palace were indebted to Julian Speroni who pulled off saves to deny Samuel Ricketts and Henrik Pedersen.
When Dean Marney rattled Speroni's woodwork after hitting a 25-yard rocket, Palace were grateful to go in at the break 0-0.
Dave Martin replaced Jeff Hughes for the second half, but Hull carried on from where the left off in the first.
Bryan Hughes fired over the bar, while Dean Windass directed his header just off target. In the 69th minute, Speroni was at stretch to beat out a Hughes strike.
But Palace took the lead in the 81st minute as Tom Soares broke from midfield, set Martin free and his cross was nodded home by James Scowcroft.
Just as Palace thought they had earned a priceless home win, Mark Hudson bundled over Michael Turner in the box to give away a penalty in the 90th minute.
Dean Marney sent Speroni the wrong way to rescue a point for the away side and heap more pressure on Eagles boss Peter Taylor.
Palace: Speroni, Butterfield, Hudson, Cort, Craig, Soares, Watson (Green 62), Fletcher, Hughes (Martin 46), Scowcroft, Dickov (Morrison 62).
Not Used: Flinders, Lawrence.
