Defender Jeff Hughes has signed for an undisclosed fee from Lincoln City.

Hughes, 22, made 68 appearances during his time at Lincoln City and should replace Gary Borrowdale at left back, as Borrowdale has refused to sign a new contract, and looks set to leave.

The Northern Irish defender has signed a three-year contract and will join the squad for the start of pre-season training this week.

Hughes said "I'm looking forward to the step up and the challenge and I'm very excited by it all.

"I had an enjoyable time at Lincoln, making the play-offs twice but I have the chance here now."
