Simon Jordan and Iain Dowie
Crystal Palace chief Simon Jordan has done a U-turn on his legal action against Charlton.
Jordan had indicated he wanted to sue Charlton for what he claimed was an illegal approach to former Palace boss Iain Dowie last May.
But according to the South London Press, Jordan has decided to drop his legal case against the Addicks.
Instead, he will face Dowie in the High Court on May 8 - two days after the Championship season ends - and Charlton officials will be called as witnesses.
Jordan is suing Dowie for fraudulent misrepresentation after he quit Selhurst Park in the summer.
Dowie claimed he wanted to be nearer his family in Bolton but joined the Eagles’ local rivals eight days later.
Jordan said he only released Dowie from his contract on the understanding it was for a job in the north and was angered when Dowie made the seven-mile journey to the Valley.
