Ward is congratulated
Peter Taylor believes a win against QPR can reignite Palace's promotion challenge.
The Eagles are unbeaten in their last three matches and creditable draws at Preston and Wolves have given Taylor hope of a push for the top six.
Although Palace are 18th and are ten points away from the play-off places, Taylor is adamant his side can go on a winning run similar to the one that clinched promotion under Iain Dowie in 2004.
He is determined to continue the recent resurgence on Saturday with a revenge win against QPR, who thrashed Palace at Loftus Road last month.
Taylot said: "Unfortunately, we made some errors at QPR and they were in good form at the time but we're in better form now and it's up to us to reverse that.
"When it's a derby, it always adds a little bit to it, but what I'm looking at is that we're putting together a little run, three matches unbeaten and if we get a result on Saturday then it starts looking healthy.
"All of a sudden we could have 26 points and are thinking that we're capable of putting a good run together, because we have the players here to do that.
"I'm sure with confidence and belief, you run around even more and you hope that when you're in a bad run the players work really hard to turn things around and that's happened here.
"There's a determination to get there and the Chairman knows that I'm working as hard as I can to get up there and get the right results.
"Against Barnsley, we had a determination that 'enough was enough' and now we've started to go on a bit of a run so Saturday is massive for us again."
