Peter Taylor is desperate to give his old room-mate Mick McCarthy one more sleepless night.

Taylor shared a room with Wolves chief McCarthy when the budding young managers were doing their full FA coaching badges at Lilleshall in 1995.

The pair, who clash at Molineux tonight, became firm friends even though Taylor admits he often kept McCarthy awake with his snoring.

Taylor said: "The full badge used to be two weeks long and bloody hard work, so you need a good room mate and Mick looked after me.

"He is a good fella and was great company, but I think I might have done a bit of snoring and I‘m sure he‘ll remind me of that.

"We were both starting off as managers then and we always phone each other up. Whenever Mick is in a job or has just got a job, I wish him good luck."

Taylor believes Wolves will go into the game with an advantage because they have had an extra day's rest after playing Sunderland on Friday.

"Mick McCarthy’s teams are always very hard-working and organised," he said.

"I know someone who is a season-ticket holder there and they are very pleased with what they are seeing.

"We know it is going to be a difficult game. They have had an extra day off after playing on Friday."
