Peter Taylor
Crystal Palace and high flying Preston share the spoils in a 0-0 draw at Deepdale.
Peter Taylor chose an unchanged line-up following last Saturday's victory against Barnsley, however Michael Hughes and Tom Soares switched positions with Soares on the right wing and Hughes in central midfield with Mark Kennedy.
Preston had the majority of possession during the match, but Palace had good opportunities to score through Jamie Scowcroft and Clinton Morrison.
The first half was fairly uneventful for the two keepers Iain Turner (playing his second game for Palace) and ex-Eagle Carlo Nash. Both sides were restricted to long range efforts as they attempted to cause a breakthrough.
Taylor brought on Shefki Kuqi and Dougie Freedman in the second half but Palace were concentrating more on not conceeding than scoring.
Right at the death Turner was forced into a magnificant save, palming away a Paul McKenna shot in acrobatic style.
Overall a good point for Palace, who were facing a team in form and battling for pole position in the Championship.
