Charlie Sheringham has signed for Crystal Palace after impressing on trial.
Sheringham, 18, son of West Ham striker Teddy Sheringham, has been on trial with the club since being released by Ipswich Town.
He scored during the pre-season match against Stevenage Borough and impressed boss Peter Taylor in the club's two games in America.
"Charlie joined on a week-to-week trial at first, but he has impressed so much we are giving him a couple of years," said Palace director of football Bob Dowie.
