Sam Togwell
Port Vale have put in an improved offer for midfielder Sam Togwell.
The 21-year-old, who has a year left on his contract, spent a successful six-month loan period with Vale at the end of last season.
He was voted their Young Player of the Year and netted four goals in 30 appearances. And Vale chairman Bill Bratt is desperate to sign him after his initial bid was rejected by the Eagles.
"We will be following our interest up and we have increased our bid substantially," said Bratt. "We are waiting to hear if Sam is going to be surplus to Palace's requirements."
