Palace let two points slip, drawing 2-2 with Ipswich after dominating them for long periods of the match, writes Peter Gillman.
They brought Ipswich back into the game with an own goal and then failed to finish them off when a red card reduced Ipswich to ten men.
Palace went ahead on nine minutes after AJ was brought down on the edge of the box by Ipswich defender Wilnis, who was lucky to escape a red card for the foul. The free kick rebounded to Jobi whose cross was headed home by Aki from six yards.
Ipswich were hardly in the match but drew level on 29 minutes after a cross ping-ponged around the Palace box. Soares deflected the ball towards the goal and although Kiraly seemed to have clawed it to safety the lino signalled a goal.
Ipswich had more possession after equalising but Palace regained the lead on 52 minutes when AJ won another free kick wide on the left. Watson fired the ball into the Ipswich area where Morrison glanced it home.
Palace were on top again but on 67 minutes Ipswich equalised for the second time when ex-Palace Ricardo Fuller got to a cross ahead of Ward and headed past Gabor.
Eleven minutes later Fuller was sent off after the lino flagged for a foul. Fuller had already been booked but the ref gave a straight red for what was later reported to be foul and abusive language.
Palace pressed strongly for the winner but could not convert a string of openings. The closest came in the final minute when Dougie’s point-blank header was blocked on the line by Ipswich keeper Supple.
Palace remain in fifth place after the match, five points above Wolves in seventh and with a game in hand.
