Dougie Freedman

Dougie Freedman netted Palace's equaliser in a 1-1 draw at Tottenham Hotspur.

Palace's side featured four of our latest signings, Gabor Kiraly, Gonzalo Sorondo, Nicola Ventola and Ivan Kaviedes.

Neil Shipperley continuing his push for a first team place after coming back from injury, had Palace's first chance of the game. His volley on the turn, trickled wide of Spurs keeper Rob Birch's goal.

Tottenham's Johnnie Jackson shortly followed with an 18-yard curling effort which went wide of Kiraly's goal.

Spurs' Lee Barnard came close to breaking the deadlock on 27 minutes after battling part Sorondo before firing a shot just wide.

Spurs did manage to score their goal before half-time. Rohan Ricketts slipped a ball through to Barnard, who fired in an effort from 16 yards out which beat Kiraly.

Kit Symons brought on Leeds United loan targets Tommy Black and Dougie Freedman at half-time.

Shipperley came close again shortly after the restart with a looping header from a Shaun Derry cross - his effort though went over the bar.

On 59 minutes, Black passed a good ball to Kaviedes and the Ecuadorian's shot deflected off a defender. Five minutes later Palace were level, Kaviedes picking out Freedman, who finished with a half-volley.

Kiraly made a double save a few minutes later from Jackson and Ziegler. Black almost won it for Palace at the end - his shot was destined for the goal, only for Stephen Kelly's heel to intervene and deflect it wide.
