Finnish keeper on trial

Former Bolton and Stoke goalkeeper Jani Viander has been handed a trial by Steve Kember.

Matt Clarke is struggling to recover fully from his troublesome knee injury which kept him out from much of last season.

Kember wants to bring in an extra keeper to back up Frenchman Cedric Berthelin who has performed very well inbetween the sticks this season.

Finnish international Viander was released by Stoke in the summer and trained with Palace this week.

Palace now have cash to spend after getting Ade Akinbiyi of the wage bill, ironically to the Potters.
