Palace defender Andy Linighan said that The Eagels shouldn't be aiming too high this season. Crystal Palace are having a poor start of the season with a 2-0 defeat against Preston last weekend as an absolute low.

The veteran defender feels they should rather aim for a place in mid-table. The expectations were high after Simon Jordan took over the club and brought in a bag of money.

Linighan believes that it is very early days for the club and that the new signings still have to find their place in the squad. He also said that it would be fairer to see how it's going with the club around Christmas.

The former Arsenal player, who hopes to get a regular place in the team over the next month, said: "It's very early days and we're still finding our feet a bit and Christmas will be a better time to judge."

"It's still a transitional period for the club but I think mid table or top ten is realistic," he added."

Other news comes from the training ground. It is said that Palace are unlikely to sign Thailand skipper Kiatisuk Senamuang.

Senamuang appeared in a reserve game of the Eagles against Northampton Town but he failed to impress Palace boss Alan Smith.

The same thing counts for former Lens player Freddy Cadieu who played in the same game.
