Crystal Palace have persuaded former Birmingham striker Dele Adebola to sign for the club.

Adebola was at the ground last night, watching the game with Ade Akinbiyi.

Simon Jordan confirmed last night that he was due to have a medical today and sign in time to be included in the squad for the Portsmouth home match on Saturday.

Jordan said: "The deal has been concluded and he is having a medical. It is a one-year contract and we are pleased to have him."

Adebola originally refused a deal after his agent asked for an unrealistic wage but Adebola has had a change of heart after speaking to a number of other clubs.
