So Wilf gets to experience winning the Turkish League. Great stuff. It was an exciting season with the league going down to the last game. A few Palace stars have come to Turkey and played well in recent years. My local team, the Black Eagles-Besiktas, won the Turkish FA Cup last week. If you can't be with the one you love love the one you're with...

Happy for Wilf, nice for him to try a different league and come away with a league title. I wonder how he would have been in a Glasner team. He must be watching on impressed with his old team mates

Galata-saray = galata Palace...in Turkish.
And Galata could possibly be a reference to a celtic tribe. similar to french Gauls, irish Gaels, Scots Gallic, or the Latinate word for Wales, Galle...with a vocabulary as Celtic as Anerley, Penge or the Sel in Selhurst.

Our family adopted Besiktas in Istanbul, The Black Eagles. If you get the chance the stadium tour is excellent. When Wilf went to Galatasaray we were conflicted. The Turks love taking about football
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

I was on holiday in Turkey when one of the big sides won an important game. The resort was hundreds of miles from the club but the locals went mad. They were driving up and down the high street in a convoy honking horns and waving flags, it was fun to watch.
