I believe - most of the time - you get what you deserve.

I believe that short term necessities like Benteke & Sakho are now "bearing fruit" in terms of tying up finance to develop the squad now when it's badly needed.

We'd actually have been better - long term - to do a Burnley, refuse to invest in expensive short term solutions, & think strategically (incl accepting relegation in the belief that the process will result in prompt re-entry whilst being stronger).

The only time Parish has thought strategically was over FdB but - the damage had already been done on finances & he selected totally the wrong bloke for the job.
