He has become something of a forgotten man since his unfortunate injury, but he will be back fit by the time the new season kicks off in August. I think it will be almost like a new signing. His potential is enormous. Just before his injury, he was starting to show why he was touted as a future England player a few years ago. That goal he scored against Man City at Selhurst in November when he tricked Zabeleta to get a yard of space and then drill it in with his left foot from 20 yards, was top class. If we can sign Defoe in the summer, we would have 3 quality strikers who can play different roles. Wickham would probably mainly be on the bench, but he can replace Benteke if he was injured, and we have the option of playing a big man up front on his own, or Defoe up alongside either of them

He's a good player. A like him a lot. Hope he returns back to his full potential after this long lay off.

We do need him back and to stay injury free for a decent period of time. We also need a new striker to replace Remy. Possibly a third if Campbell is off down the coast.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

When fit he's a monster, especially for a team like us that play up to a aerial threat. Fit in August, probably out for the season by November.

I like Wickham, he has bags of potential and is a nice lad off the pitch. Gets unfairly labelled as injury prone by some on here. The fact is before he came to us he had been rarely injured. Missed roughly 5 games in 4 seasons.

Missed roughly 5 games in 4 seasons. Yes, I'm hoping he's just had an unlucky spell with injuries rather than proving to be injury-prone. As we only play with one striker, I think if we have Benteke, Wickham, and a new striker of a different kind as our options, we'll be fine up top.

Wickham's palace career is the definition of injury prone. I can't remember him being rushed back, I remember the original return date being much shorter yet not coming back till months after. Hopefully next year he will remain for because he is a good player and has a great potential.

I think Sam will like Connor a lot. He's right up his street, big powerful strong running forward

Loved how he tucked that header away at Wembley last season. One of my favourite ever CPFC goals in fact (and I've seen a few in 45 years).
Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes) |
