Think we have to assume that Stoke are gone, together with West Brom. So our rivals are Huddersfield and Swansea as well as Southampton. I think Swansea are playing well enough to survive. Huddersfield have a tough run-in too: home to Watford, Everton and Arsenal; away at Man City and Chelsea. Suppose they get 7 points from that lot. Means we need 8, as we have better goal difference. Beat Brighton and West Brom, draw at Watford and Stoke; lose to Leicester (say) gives us 8.

We would take the 3 points margin over Saints surely, they have to win that extra game.

I understand everyone looking at that arsenal saints game today with the hope saints would lose (I was) but I think when it comes down to it, Southampton will survive. They have a good side and played really well today and most importantly had a lot of belief and fight in them. This means that I think our main relegation rivals are Huddersfield and stoke. And to be honest, if we can’t finish above Huddersfield with our run in, we deserve to be relegated. Saints are obviously in the mix but I do think they will get the it of it, they have Chelsea at home next week, after today’s performance, I can see them getting something. They also have a game in hand This is a good post and I also agree Saints will stay up especially with king pin Austin back up top.good thing is Stephens was shown a straight red and will miss 3 games. Huddersfield,Stoke and Baggies will go down.

I think both Southampton and Stokew are capable of putting together a good run of results. Both might just do that. So for us it is important we get above Huddersfiels and BHA. Neither of those two are capable of a run of results but can just scrap for the odd game.

and Leicester are prob a better away side, Stoke and Southampton are fighting and to presume they won't beat a top side is foolish, it happens every year and we normally pull that trick off when we need to, Hudds desp need something b4 their last 3 games, I think they're down, but we will need at least six points to stay up, that's if either Saints or Stoke manage 9 points from now on in. Swansea aren't out of it either, but they're our 4th best chance atm - west brom gone, hudds very likely, one from 4 for the 3rd spot - with our remaining fixtures if we can't get the requisite points then there shouldn't be any hard luck stories - beat weed and baggies draw with Watford and Leicester and we can lose to Stoke and still be comfortable.

I cant see why people believe Southampton will be safe, They are on one of the worst form runs in the division, Got hammered 3-0 by West Ham last week and basically played a second string Arsenal side today and still lost, they are in serious trouble. If we manage to beat Brighton next week then there is no reason they wont go down, with the fixtures they have they may not pick up another point. Spurs Huddersfield's season may depend on their next 2 games, Home to Watford and Everton before finishing with City Chelsea and Arsenal. This is going to go right down to the wire and I would not be surprised if it goes down to the last game of the season. We definitely have the most favorable run in but if we dont win next weekend we are in for one scary finish to the season.

Sorry that isn't comfortable because West Brom is on the last day of the season and going into that match after those results is going to be nervy.

Unfortunately Saints were not really outgunned by Arsenal. Arsenal defended against them very poorly on a few occasions but for serious spells they were put under quite a bit of pressure. Arsenal forced it late on by bringing on Wilshere and Southampton had real problems with him and Welbeck attacking together, but still had quite a bit of the game and could easily have taken a point. Which is not what I wanted to see.
