Confidence is a big factor in football. Ours is sky high, Villas isn't - shrewd manager who wont let up for a second and a wall of noise at Selhurst. While I agree we must not get complacent, I'd be amazed if we don't beat Villa !

Yes and what about the time West Brom were bottom on Christmas Day in the days when nobody had ever been bottom on Christmas Day and survived? And we had to beat Clowntown and it was 2-1 with seven minutes left and we let in a goal and West Brom got out of it.

Sorry to be negative but we must get behind the team more than ever now. Selhurst next week needs to be a fortress of sound. I remember vividly the lap of honour the palace side in 1993 did after beating Ipswich at home. That day we thought we were safe. The only team who could drag us down were Oldham and they had Villa (still in the title race at that time) Liverpool and Southampton to play and had to win them all. And guess what?! They bloody did! Until that fat lady sings we cannot allow complacency to kick us in the nuts! Totally agree.

I was at Highbury in '93. Coppell was the most negative of people and he thought we were safe..... One more win versus Villa..... EAGLES!
