Two goals this season. No goals in 11 home league games An astonishing decision to take the ball from Luca for that penalty against Bournemouth that probably cost us two points. For a Centre Forward he is woeful in front of goal even if he is bringing other positives to the game. You buy a Centre Forward to do lots of things but primarily he is meant to score goals - Benteke doesn't - he is not a natural scorer and he doesn't anticipate where the ball might go like goal poachers do. He has to be dropped.

For a Centre Forward he is woeful in front of goal even if he is bringing other positives to the game.
You buy a Centre Forward to do lots of things but primarily he is meant to score goals - Benteke doesn't - he is not a natural scorer and he doesn't anticipate where the ball might go like goal poachers do.
He has to be dropped.

I would suggest everyone of the teams involved in the relegation scrap would bite our hands off to have Benteke in their sides. The responsibility of goal scoring does not rest on one player . We would be a weaker team without him. COYP

COYP Yes, and the transfer window has closed,why not just get behind every player as im sure they all read these threads and share the love! On that note, i did see dwight welling up as he came in to the tunnel at the end of the game, because of the holmesdale fans in that area clapping him, sharing the love see!

Benteke is a highly paid Premiership and International Centre Forward who doesn't score goals who is payed a vast sum of money to do so. He is not doing what is says on the tin! I support him but reserve the right to voice my opinions!

The guy who fouled Benteke to draw the penalty should have just let him have the free header. The ball would have ended up 5 yards over the bar, as usual. 2017 Feb. The guy who fouled Benteke to draw the penalty should have just let him have the free header. The ball would have ended up 5 yards over the bar, as usual.

Yes, i can do if i want i hear you say, and i am jesting, but benteke was first off the pitch yesterday and looked gutted, so he is feeling it, and spoke after that the team were hurting after so many chances in second half,we all want the same end result, palace to do well, including benteke, constantly criticising him isnt going to do his confidence any good and the team will suffer as a result, but thats just my opinion, you can criticise who you like, but maybe share the criticism to others who are useless, lazy, uninterested, dont give a fcuk etc etc etc,,,

Outside of the top 6 teams, only one player has had better goalscoring chances than him - which is largely due to his good anticipation and movement, but also because we've played pretty well and created good chances for him. However, he doesn't look like scoring with his feet. On his head he is a different threat, and was very unlucky with that great clearance off the line. Last season he got a similar quality of chances each game, but was putting them away more regularly. He's a good player. Has had a poor season but let's hope he can score a few more the last 12 games. Certainly 10x the goal threat Cameron Jerome ever was, even when he's not scoring! This is in fact exactly what he does do - he just doesn't finish his chances.

Outside of the top 6 teams, only one player has had better goalscoring chances than him - which is largely due to his good anticipation and movement, but also because we've played pretty well and created good chances for him. However, he doesn't look like scoring with his feet. On his head he is a different threat, and was very unlucky with that great clearance off the line.

Last season he got a similar quality of chances each game, but was putting them away more regularly.

My sentiments entirely.

He scored against W.Ham, yesterday I felt he did much better than in previous games and was so near to scoring so positive signs.
