It may be my memory playing tricks, but didn't AJ miss one in a televised game v Charlton in the Premier. The same game where we lost to a last minute breakaway goal and (I think) Danny Granville went AWOL You're correct, Dennis Rommedahl scored the winner. I remember the disappointment.

I had every confidence Dean Gordon would score whenever he stepped up to take a penalty. If there hadn't been a net, I think the ball would still be travelling now. I can only remember seeing Ronnie Allen take a penalty just once for us and it's the only time I have ever witnessed a missed penalty being cheered by supporters of the same side as the penalty taker. Ronnie blazed the ball over the bar and the crowd erupted. Well I suppose we were already beating Torquay 7-2 at the time.
