Left out of final 23 for Russia , I know he had a poor season but I think he was a victim of circumstance after that Russian hotel leaked those labels from the mattresses and of course Martinez denied that and obviously some had to be sacrificed step forward mr Benteke

I would rather have him back with a few goals at a WC then an idle summer. Not a great surprise he has been excluded though, was poor as a substitute on Sunday. Originally posted by MKCPFC

Agreed, he's got to get his mojo back from somewhere. As things stand, I can see this £30 million player simply leaving at the end of his contract next summer.

Southgate has picked Danny Welbeck for the England squad, Martinez knew better when he put his 23 Belgium players for Russia WC. 3 goals in a season as the main striker and you expect to be picked for a strong team like Belgium.....c'mon show some sense. Now I only hope Roy Hodgson cut the losses and get rid of Benteke. Can not take one more season of this sh...t!

An unlikely inclusion in the squad would have been a much needed boost and would have given him at least a slim chance of repairing his reputation at the World Cup. I can’t see this further knock to his confidence doing anything positive for him.

Even if we keep him he wont be 1st choice. I think Roy will keep going with Wilf and Andros. Wilf is learning the central podition very quickly and is getting onto the end of crosses. I think Benteke will be plan B
