Certainly an upgrade, Pardew seemed incredibly incapable of bringing in coaches of a real quality. Came across well in his interview for cpfc.co.uk, rates the squad highly. I think the penny will drop now that the old guard have gone, and suddenly they've now got the England manager and senior coach from just a few months ago training them.

Well for the record I have to say, while not a surprise, and acknowledging that SA should appoint his own team. It is a shame in my view that we are now managed by someone who left his last job as his position was untenable, assisted by someone who lied in the High Court in regard to the Tony McGill case.

I hope he has forgiven us 30,000 Palace fans that squeaked in very high-pitched voices 'Sammmmmmmyyyy' every time he touched the ball as a visiting Liverpool player at Selhurst. He did look about nine though. He made us do it.
