Half time, Guehi is a beast, fast, strong and reads the game well, the right hand side is poor, ward is too slow to overlap Ayew, who isn't a wide player anyway.
But with Olise, Gallagher, Eze, possibly Armstrong and Nelson different kettle of fish

We had control of the game until we took the lead and then seemed to lose our way a bit and Watford unlucky not to be level. Definite penalty and Wilf, unsurprisingly, has been constantly fouled. The referee is terrible for both teams, but at least he got the penalty right. I could see things boiling over if he doesn't get a grip of the game.

McArthur our best player first half in my view. Some lovely touches and set-up Wilf for a great chance which he fluffed. Guehi did a great cover tackle but also did an air swing at a cross! Jairo and Schlupp seem a bit off the pace in my view. Ayew getting involved in everything. Hopefully the rumours about Kouyate are false as he is worth more than a few million to us, even if he isn't going to be a regular starter for the whole season this time. An experienced leader and I reckon he might start against Chelsea alongside the talented Guehi. Mateta working hard but a loose touch a couple of times. Wilf has struggled to beat his man at times (not helped by fouls) but looks up for it. He celebrated the goal more than many he scored in the PL last season (showing the love for the Watford fans). Not a great penalty really and the keeper a bit weak.

Watford seem to be quite old-fashioned in their approach throwing balls into the box for their big men. Not pretty but could be effective. For the first 25 minutes I thought they were awful, but they pushed us in the last 20 minutes.
